Dahomey Tassi Bracelet is a Beninese action series directed by Sprints Gboko, blending royal legends with modernity in an epic story deeply rooted in the history of Dahomey.
Through an immersive staging that is both traditional and contemporary, the series explores the legacy of the Amazons, African spirituality, and the fight against sickle cell disease.
This series marks a milestone in Beninese cinema: it is the first TV series from Benin fully dubbed in English, designed to cross linguistic borders and make its mark on the international stage.
Chosen by the spirit of the Amazonian Queen Tassi Hangbé, Dah Kinmandjè protects a mystical bracelet while Baba Daho, Delacroix, and the Young Prince fight to seize it at any cost. Meanwhile, young Fifa, suffering from sickle cell disease, embodies the human stakes of this ancestral struggle.
Dahomey Tassi Bracelet unfolds as an action‑fantasy epic blending Beninese royal legends with contemporary issues. It all begins with Steffen, who is crowned Dah Kinmandjè after being chosen by the spirit of the Amazonian Queen Tassi Hangbé to lead a new kingdom. The mystical bracelet of Tassi, bearing an ancient power, becomes the central prize: Dah Kinmandjè is entrusted with its protection, which earns him a bounty orchestrated by the formidable Baba Daho. When Baba Daho touches the artifact, he regains forty years of youth, a living testament to the bracelet’s immense power.
In the shadows, the foreigner Delacroix offers 500 million to seize the relics and enrich his material empire. Yet the true adversary is the Young Prince, leader of the Kpanligan clan whose kingdom has been devastated: he plans to assassinate Tassi upon her return in human form to sell her artifacts and fund his reconstruction.
Tassi Hangbé returns, ready to confront the dark forces, restore balance among the Oyó people of Nigeria, the Kpanligans, and the Amazons of Dahomey, while helping young Fifa, a symbol of sickle cell disease and the fragility of life.
Amid betrayal, sacrifice, spiritual heritage, and modernity, this series bridges African memory and universal storytelling, giving Benin a strong voice on the global audiovisual stage.
